Archangel Cheat Sheet (Genessia)
The Archangel’s Cheat Sheet: A detailing of powers and permissions.
Light: The living energy that flows through everything. There are two types of Light: Pure and Sublime. Sublime energy cannot be touched by anyone including the archangel. It touches you. That unexplainable feeling you get when standing by the ocean and seeing how powerful it is as a whole, or the deep pulsing energy of the earth as it thrives? Both are examples of Sublime energy. Pure energy (Light), to simplify things, is everything else ‘living’. The elements, nature, souls...raw power.
Gifts: Gifts from the Seraphim. Every angel is born into an elemental alignment depending on the dominant in their family line. For the purposes of a simple explanation, gifts=powers. While each angel has an Birthright Gift, the Archangel is the only angel to have (potential) access to them all.
W I N G S: Dove is an angel, and angels have wings. Hers are mostly white (with a few soft brown flecks toward the tips) and the strongest asset she has. Obviously, she has the ability to fly so long as her wings are intact, and can hide them at will to allow her to blend more seamlessly with humans.
PG-13 Note: Angel wings are extremely sensitive to the touch (as is her back when they are hidden), unless her Light is purposefully flowing through them (like during a fight/adrenaline). This trait, while unfortunate on occasion, can be very beneficial to lovers… or anyone who wants to tear her down fast.
B O D Y: Dove is about as strong as the average woman. She works out to maintain her figure for her career and own well-being, but…that’s about it. Her wings can pack a punch, but as far as strength goes… she’s easily overpowered physically. While she is able to manipulate the elements (like fire), she is absolutely NOT immune to their effects. She can be burned, frozen, etc if she’s met with any of the elements or isn’t paying close attention to her own Gifts as she wields them.
H E A L: Dove cannot use her own healing powers on herself, but angels do recover much more quickly than humans. The time it takes to heal is cut shorter in return for multiplied pain. Example: If she breaks her leg, instead of it taking a few weeks, it may only take a week or so to fully heal, but she’ll feel all of the pain of those 8-10 weeks during that one.
D E A T H: She can definitely be killed, but lets discuss that one. She rises like a phoenix, so it requires a few extra steps.
E M P A T H: As an angel, Dove has a passive empathic sense that allows her to read emotions and gather an ‘overall’ feeling of a person upon meeting (or glorified first impression). This is not a power she can turn off at will, nor does she pay much mind to it-- to her, it's just a natural sense like smell or taste.
A deeper read will require ooc communication and will have obvious IC ‘tells’ if anyone wants to play with that. She still will not be able to pinpoint the reason for the emotion, so be assured that there will be some wrong assumptions here and there should we play with this Gift.
D R E A M - W E A V E R: In her time as a Guardian Angel, Dove has honed the angel talent to help guide dreams. It requires physical touch (skin to skin) and allows her to sooth nightmares/share a dream with another person. While she cannot change the entire dream from nightmare to daydream, she can help guide the person’s subconscious in the right direction, should they be flexible.
While this power isn’t exactly relevant anymore as she rarely uses it (maybe once in canon after she’s become archangel), I’m happy to have her play with it, should someone be interested. It ABSOLUTELY requires ooc plotting and I can’t promise she’ll be great at it, but it’s worth a shot!
Obviously, these powers are a little intrusive, and I would prefer to talk out the details with each player if anyone is uncomfortable with them. If we can’t decide why she shouldn’t be able to read their emotions, we’ll make something up so it works in your favor!
H E A L I N G W A R M T H: Dove can use her Light to manipulate a person’s own Light (life energy) and heal the body from within, as if speeding up natural healing time. Obviously, this is extremely useful, but she must be careful not to send the body into shock or exhaust the person’s energy (meaning if they’re seriously wounded and she’s the one healing them, it’ll be a few sessions, not just one big miracle healing moment). She must be touching the person’s skin to share her Light and heal their body.
A N G E L’ S K I S S: A more focused Light share. Dove is able to pass on her own personal Light and pull someone back from the brink of death. While it won’t guarantee that they’ll live, it’ll give them just enough life for someone else to take over the healing and have a better shot at saving their life. She, however, will be exhausted and unable to do much else for a while.
G U A R D I A N G L O W: Think mental security blanket and soothing aura. This effect is much more effective if she’s touching the other person.
While Dove has access to the Gifts of the Seraphim… she’s absolutely not a fighter and has never been trained to be one. With no reason to be trained (until about 5 years ago), she grew up as a noble and pampered ‘pretty girl,’ with no further goal in life than to take over the Guardian program and marry a pretty man, have pretty babies, etc. Now that she’s archangel, she’s in hot, hot water and not sure where to start. Thank god for her knights, even if she has no experience in how to direct them.
When caught in a fight, Dove will do her best to keep a good distance between herself and her opponent. Fire is her natural gift, and will be her immediate go-to in a fight, followed by plant-life, then water. She is not as well versed in her Gifts beyond these three, but she has a much better chance of escaping using those than she would in hand to hand combat. She hasn’t been trained very well in physical fighting, and the sword she has access to is laughable and, quite frankly, embarrasses her more than anything. Good luck ever seeing it.
NOTE: Again, while she technically has a connection to full on Archangel power, she cannot control it well without further training. If anyone wants to explore a Light meltdown, please let me know! Nothing is worse than letting that power build up and having nowhere for it to go, but it would definitely require a lot of OOC planning~
NOTE 2: Dove cannot control earth, stone, rock, etc. There’s no living energy in any of them, therefore she cannot use them.

8/20/18:
OVERALL: Dove is more than happy to conceal most of her entire archangel life for now, though things at Genessia are slowly starting to break through the mask. She’s overwhelmingly thrilled that she’s now in a world where she can go back to living her shallower lifestyle again. It’s a lovely break from the pressure of her world, but when she’s alone, it does seem to eat at her…Must be why she tries her darnedest never to be by herself.
SPIRITUALLY: She’s content, if a little anxious under the surface trying to balance things. She’s also (sort of?) lonely, but even the few she’s let close have barely scratched the surface…and it’s her fault for keeping them at bay.
ROMANTICALLY: She’s still a flirt, but while it’s definitely in her personality, she's definitely playing it up as part of the celebrity act. Romantically, she’s going nowhere just yet.
