[He's been trying to figure out how to deal with this since the kiss, and he wasn't entirely sure how even now, but he needed to do more then just sit back and ignore it. There was a lot to deal with with his new powers and it had been rough learning how to control something that he hadn't known he even had until now, but this needed to be taken care of first.]
Hey, we need to talk I think after everything that happened.
[She winces when her phone goes off unexpectedly, making her jump. It hasn't exactly been a comfortable afternoon. While she heals much faster than humans, it's a a price of nearly 10 times the pain.
She makes an almost desperate face at her glass of wine when she sees it's him calling, already feeling her cheeks turning pink, then answers as usual, trying to keep the wariness (and a little strain) out of her voice.]
Hey...
[ ...at that she almost laughs, but it's in his favor.] You think? [The fact he had- out of nowhere - turned into a one man, almost demolition team was enough to have him explaining for hours...Their kiss was another matter entirely.] How are you feeling?
[He'll have to excuse her if it takes a moment. Seems she might have just gotten out of the shower, if the robe and wet hair bun atop her head are anything to go by.]
[Oh, how darling! Augustine can't help but feel a little bad for springing up on her like this.
He's perfectly elegant in one of his elegant crimson waistcoat with a crisp white shirt underneath along with dark red slacks. His light-brown hair is actually brushed back for once in a surprisingly long loose braid. Augustine looks like he's still at the office considering the scenic background of Nova City behind him. His office is mostly white with a clean chrome and glass finish. It's quite modern looking with a rather minimalistic tone.]
The honor is all mine, dear. I was hoping you had some time to spare.
[Augustine never mentioned his day job to her, has he? He catches her gaze briefly but thinks nothing of it. When they meet up, he'll mention it. Being the curator of the Nova City Museum is busy work.]
I was wondering if you're up for a shopping trip in Fayren, Dove. I'm...in search of something for a particular Halloween costume I'm making.
[That certainly takes her by surprise, but she does perk up a little at the idea. She grins over at the device, raising a brow.]
Oh? Anything we may have previously discussed?
[She still wants to see him in a halo and wings, and Fayren seems to be the most obvious place to hunt that sort of thing out. Wings or no, however, she's pleased with the offer; seems that her night out with Namur has bolstered her confidence in hanging around 'Rip's men'. Still, she's a bit surprised hat he's called her specifically.]
[ If anything, Augustine means to foster a decent enough professional relationship between them. Especially, since the performance is fastly approaching. Rip will always come first no matter what.]
Indeed. [He answers with a slight smirk.] In truth, my Halloween idea is less of a costume and more like me dragging up the past. However, I plan to add a certain pair of wings to make it pop.
[Oh, boy. Should he be messing with magical potions to achieve this aesthetic? Augustine thinks it's worth the risk.]
An half an hour works! I'll meet you at the Fayren's Gate. Wear sensible shoes, I fear there will be a lot of walking.
[The smile that blossoms across her face is stunningly infectious and full of unfiltered amusement. His acolyte side, perhaps? He had mentioned it, though the wings had been her lighthearted tease. Regardless, she's now even more excited for this meeting. She needed something to lift her spirits.]
Sensible shoes, [she scoffs, shaking her head and reaching for her phone.] They're all sensible if you wear them correctly.
I'll see you soon.
[As promised, she would arrive in the allotted half out, hair no longer damp, but fluffed and smoothed to perfection. While Augustine tended to favor an opulent flair for...any occasion, she concluded, she had opted for a somewhat simpler outfit: a comfortably lightweight, open backed sweater that showcased a delicate adornment that fell between her shoulders, well tailored jeans, and fairly tall, wedge-heeled ankle boots, despite his warning to wear 'sensible' shoes. She's very used to the feeling, and as Augustine is quite tall as it is...
She would alight a safe distance away, gracefully stepping down from her flight from Genessia and letting her wings fade before she approached.]
[Terrifying? A lot of power to not have control over? She's not even sure where to start, but to press him when he doesn't seem to know much either doesn't seem like something a friend would do.]
It felt ...familiar, if that helps...
[She's not sure if that's reassuring or not, but it's worth a shot.]
[He's always welcome, but she pauses. He's not wrong, but if he's coming over she should... probably at least make an attempt to not look like she's in as much pain as she is.]
[She wouldn't have long since Styxx wouldn't be walking this round as he flashed to her door before knocking on it. He knows it would be rude just to enter without permission.]
[She's just barely gotten off her couch before he knocks. She almost yelps when the surprise makes her tense, but instead grabs a blanket off the couch and wraps up in it as she heads to her room to grab a sweatshirt.]
Come in!
[Lovey's at the door already, poised and ready to pounce up on him the second he opens the door.]
[Styxx opens the door and steps in, and the moment Lovey pounces on him he smiles and picks the little Eevee up to give it some attention. He really was an animal kinda guy.]
[Dove's still just enough in her living room to see the smile and watch him scoop the eevee up.
...hm.
Shaking her head fondly, she dips into her room, dropping the blanket and scooping up a pullover to toss on with her shorts. It takes a little more effort then usual, but once she's decent, she makes her way back out to him, Ace leaving her side to go greet the man as well.
Looks like Lovey isn't the only one who's warmed up to Styxx.]
That was quick.
[She's just going to hover in the doorway a moment...]
She nods, watching the three and expecting her swablu to join in any moment. For now, it remained perched atop the bookshelf, snacking on... something or another.]
That's handy... Can you fly and see through walls, too? [she grins, knowing full well there's a solid chance he'll miss the reference. Doesn't matter. For now she's just going to make her way back to her wine glass and take a seat on the arm of her couch. Easier than trying to sink into the cushions with busted ribs.]
I must decline for now, but thank you for the offer. Dove, we need to really talk about what happened. First off, I must apologize in person for my actions. I know I hurt you, and I shouldn't have. As for the kiss.....I don't know what came over me and I must apologize wholeheartedly for it.
[She pauses, considering his words, then sighs and shakes her head.]
I know you wouldn't purposefully hurt me; you weren't yourself. I'll heal... and probably be ready for combat this weekend. [If he still wanted to be around her long enough to train.
She...pretty much just drops the bit about the kiss.
She obviously heard him though, if the light flush of her cheeks and her sudden fascination with her wine glass are anything to go by.]
[...of course she's not getting away from it that easily. She studies him a moment more, then shakes her head.
I mean... have you seen yourself?
[She immediately cringes mentally. It's a terrible defense, she knows, and instead of being funny she's... not entirely sure she's done anything but make it more awkward.]
It was a Salvation Kiss... you were dying, and an Angel's kiss can bring people back from the brink of death so I figured it was worth a shot...
She sighs, swirling the wine in the glass before downing the rest of it. She's feeling rather backed into a corner and isn't really sure of a straight answer.]
I just thought it would shock you out of...whatever that was, [she finally tells him, shrugging in defeat.
She does pause a moment, then quietly:] ....Why did you kiss me back?

[A rather delicious looking cake is left on Dove's kitchen table along with an anonymous note that reads "A Very Merry Unbirthday To You!"]

[His headaches and nosebleeds had stopped and he had more control over his mind reading. It was a relief.]
Are you okay?
no subject
[She hesitates before answering.] ...I'll live, I promise. I'm just tired.
[And achy, both physically and from her head spinning all afternoon. She certainly sounds drained.]

[Even the kiss.]

Yeah, you did.
[She can't hold it against him though.]
You weren't yourself though, so... don't apologize. I'm just glad you're okay.

[A handsome dhampir decked out in red suddenly comes onto screen.]
Dove? Little dove~
Re: 《video》
Hello yourself~ to what do I owe the honor?
[Still dazzling as ever.]
